Well Christmas is almost here - but it sure doesn't feel like it with the nice warm weather we've been having. I am not complaining though. Its sure lots more fun taking Sam and Jasper for walks when it is not -20. We've been busy over the last couple of weeks, my mother had surgery 2 fridays ago, so she was here last week to recover. This last weekend we were busy with Christmas parties, friends and church. We had our small group christmas party on Saturday night - for those of you that don't know we are connected with a group of 8 couples that meet every week for a study. Meeting every week has been such an encouagement for Ade and I. We have made some awsome friends here in our little community. Ade and I were asked to light the Advent candle at church and read scripture from Isaiah. It was a blessing to be able to do that. It was really neat to hear Ade read the scripture in front of everyone - He spoke with such authority.
We set our Christmas tree up about a week ago. We always go to Ikea and get our tree for the year. Its such a neat time for Sam - discovering all the lights, tinsle and ordiments is quite facinating for him. He will sit and just stare at the tree in wonder. Often I forget to explain everything to him - realizing absolutley everything is new to him. Its quite a facinating concept really. So much of a foundation is laid down within the first years of a childs life. He loves watching the pictures as we read to him too. He usually gets a book or two a day - his favorite being "Frankin and his Dad go Fishing". He sits so quiet and just listens and watches. He is such a pleasant child. He has been sleeping through the nights for the last 3-4 weeks. Its so nice going to bed and waking up in the morning realizing I've had a full nights sleep. Often I find myself staring at him in wonder - convincing myself that he is a little part of me. What a miracle he is to us.
