Winter Wonder Land....

Last night we got about 10 inches of fluffy, beautiful snow. This morning around 5:30 Jasper and I went out for some snow fun. I bet she thought she was dreaming - she would run and run and run, and then throw snow up in the air with her snout, and then run into me and then run away from me, and roll and run.... what a hoot. Ade came out around 6 to shovel the walks. I felt like I was in a dream too. No one else was really up and about, so it felt like our little secret present. Something about making first tracks in the snow - kindof like opening a present from God in a way. Blows Santa out of the water really when I think about it. Really - you go to bed and everything is blah - cold and no snow, mucky and dirty, and then you wake up with beautiful magical white fluff falling from heaven blanketing the ground. The earth looks like a completely different place. Reminded me of when the first snow fall would come when I was a child, and Micah and I would get all geared up and play for half the day out in the new snow. I think this year is especially special because we haven't really got a good heap of snow up to this point. Ade and I got cross country skis last year, and havent been able to use them yet this year - I think we will try them out this weekend. Ade wanted so bad just to stay at home and play with us here in the snow. Tonight well bring out the sled and take Sam around. Right now he is in his bed screaching - a happy screach. He sure has taken to thumb sucking, really cute, but its hard to take his thumb away from him. He doesn't get a sucky at at all, when he has sock mitts on he resorts to sucking on his bottom lip. Oh the genius....
Hope everyone is having a wonderful day enjoying all the rich blessings
from our heavenly Father!

This is us ice fishing a couple weekends ago with our friends Mark, Pauline and their little girl Hannah. Her and Sam hang out lots. It was so cold that day. They had about 4 sheep skins at the bottom of the sled, and a hot water bottle - Sam ended up sleeping 1 1/2 hrs in the sled. It was a good day. NO fish though.... Hmmmm....
