Such a good Dad

As you can see our neighbourhood is still being developed - which means thick dust that is pointless to clean on our white blinds, never ending bobcat beeping all day long, slimy concrete layers swearing and checking me out everytime we go out of the house and playing their loud abnoctious music much to early in the morning. But it also is great to see new houses going up, people driving by slowly watching the development of their houses, getting new neighbours and getting to know them, and just watching a new neighbourhood develop. Its a really special time in our lives - we are so grateful for the many blessings that God has given to us. Its so amazing to me that he gave me a wonderful husband, a healthy boy, a warm home, and new life growing inside of me. The above pic was taken a couple of weeks ago, when Ade was working on laying our sod. Sam loves him so much - he gets so excited when Ade walks through the door every day after work, his arms start flapping and he darts straight for his Dad's arms. He is such a good Dad for Sam. Its so unique the bond between a father and their son. We had our ultra sound about a month ago, which puts me at just about 26 weeks right now. We didn't find out the sex of the baby, and I am glad now - the suprise is going to be great. I really would like a little girl, but I know a little boy would be a great little friend for Sam too.

I miss work. I keep seeing these little prems around and it makes me realize how much I miss working with them and their families. I will go back to casual work - and pick up a shift a week when Ade is home to be with Sam. Its so great that I have a career that I can do that. Our basement development is going well, and keeping us very busy. Too busy. Tonight I officially declare as a night off for fun and family time. We have decided to take next summer off too, and are going to try really hard to not have any big projects on the go. We want to just take time to go camping, enjoy our back yard and home, hang out with friends and family, and take a small vacation.

We are in the process of painting, and next week hope to get our flooring down.
Its great to see Adrian working on the basement, I love how he takes his time to do the best job that he can do. He is a great handyman. He also just found out a couple days ago that his is an official professional engineer now. APEGGA approved his application a couple weeks ago. Its been a long journey for him that started in 97 when he began his undergrad. We are so proud of him. He is done everything he needs to do now education wise - unless he decides one day he wants to go back for his PhD.

Well enough with the rambling. This weekend I am going away with some girlfriends for some R&R to the beach. I am VERY excited, as Sam has reciently developed this super duper attachment syndrome to my pantlegs. IT was really cute at first, and it still tugs at my heart a little bit - but I am definatly looking forward to some time alone.

God is good. Pray for me as I was asked to share a testimony regarding parenting at our big fall kick off at the church on Sept 10. I haven't spoke in public for some time, and although I feel its a calling I am a little nervous about sharing in front of so many people. Please pray that God would give me his words to share, that his hand would be seen as I talk about raising little Sam, and that the peoples hearts would be receptive to hear what God would speak through me.

Such a proud Momma Bear!

First Hair Cut

Whats that buzzing I hear dad?

Its all ok as long as Dad's close!

Well at 10 1/2 months Ade decided it was time to take little Sam down to Frank's Barber shop for his first hair cut. Ade usually always goes Saturday mornings first thing, as there can be quite a line up which works well for Sam because he is really happy at that time of morning. Ade is in charge of Sam's hair cuts for his life while he is living under our roof - it is a fun bonding experience for the boys to go down to the shop to get their hair cuts together. I was so proud of Sam. He was so brave - and only cried a little when Frank used the spray bottle. At the end of it all Sam got a lemon lolly pop which was quite a hit. He looks like such a little man now - and even got some gel in it, and some sideburns! So handsome my boys are....
