Family day outting!

What's she doing mom?

So last sunday Ade took us out for a family day after church, we went to some really neat botanical gardens and they had free face painting outside so Sam became a tiger. He is going to be a lion for haloween, so I thought this would be good practice. He was a little squimish at first, but then he was fine once he was in his Dad's lap.
Sam is so brave, and makes a pretty darn good tiger too.

Sam and Ade Club

So apparently there is an Adrian and Sam club, and I am not in it. When I first found out that Sam was a little boy (18 weeks) I was shocked, and excited and thought "Boy, that will give me some extra time to spend on my own because the boys will always want to hang out..." Sure enough its starting. It all began a couple weeks ago - when Ade went hunting with his Dad for 5 days. Samuel was somewhat out of sorts - I naturally attributed it his molars that he has been getting for the last 3 months.... but then he didn't want his oatmeal in the morning (he usually downs a full bowl no problem), and then I clued in - Maybe he misses his Dad... so I showed little Sam a pic of Ade, he looked at it for a while and then ate his whole bowl of oatmeal. That night Ade was expected to arrive back home around 6, so I told Sam his Daddy was going to come home soon, so get ready - he played, sat, stood by the front door for 1 1/2 hrs waiting for him. It was so cute when Ade finally walked through the door at 730, Sam was a little shy for the first 20 seconds (Ade hadn't shaved nor showered the whole time) till he caught on it was his long awaited Daddy under all that stubble. They are so cute together. Adrian is such a good Dad to Sam, no wonder he loves him so much. And I am really happy about this, but a little sad too... Mind you I am the only one that Sam showers with kisses.... But if the boy had to choose a set of arms in the room - it would be Dad all the way. He wanders around the house all day calling out Da Da Da Da???? It is pretty darn cute. I just look at Sam and think - boy I never knew he would be that adorable.

I am so glad that Sam has a good Daddy - I couldn't imagine what life would be like without Adrian around - he brings so much joy into our lives every day. 5:45 each day is our most special and anticipated time, because we know that any minute he's going to be walking through the door and into our arms. Secretly I do wish for a little girl- so I can have a play friend when the boys are out in the garage, but I would love another little boy too - the whole thought of raising a girl intimidates me incredibly. Plus then Sam would have a good buddy to play with... I am excited not to know. Its like a great present surprise. Everyone keeps asking me if this pregnancy is any different - I am less nauseated but then I am not working shift work and 12 hr days, and getting way more sleep too. So there are too many factors to say if its so different.

Sam's 1 year old on Saturday - so we are having a huge party in our back yard. I have been planning, and organizing and shopping for the last couple days. Yesterday we went to Wetaskiwin of all places (Peavy mart) to find Sam his special wagon present (in the pic above). Time does go way to quickly with them. I am so glad I get to be a stay at home mom. So If i forgot to invite anyone to the party, its 11am in our back yard this Saturday. The more the merrier.

God is so good. My cup overflows.....

Starting to feel it....

So I am pregnant. I am starting to feel it now. My sleeping is starting to get more difficult, its amazing how our bodies were made to carry babies, yet my ribs would suggest the opposite. I feel like there is a balloon blowing up inside my stomach. I am measuring perfect, my doctor is amazingly supportive. We had our ultrasound at 21 weeks and everything looks good - I decided I didn't want to know the sex of our baby - keep it a suprise like a present. I am glad now that we didn't find out. Keeps the suspense high. I am actually going back to work casually for the last 2 months of my pregnancy. I know it sounds nuts - but if I don't do it I wont ever so it is actually quite important that I do. I am working a shift a weekend, when Ade can be home with little cutie Sam. It was good to be back yesterday - I think the hardest thing was just going yesterday for all my resert stuff, eating lunch in the staff room, saying Hi to everyone after being gone from that world for the last year... I know this is something important that needs to be in my life. IT felt really good being back. It was great to see everyone - what an amazing team of people. They all play incredible roles there. I feel so privilaged to be a part of it all - for however long that may be....

Blessings to you all.
