Any time now....

Well - I can't believe that this pregnancy is almost over, and I am going to meet this little one that keeps reminding me of how cramped he or she is getting inside of me by trying to stretch out pressing on my ribs and lower hip bone. Is it going to be a girl or a boy?

This is my list - so if any of you want to pray about it....
- a girl
- deliver at 38 1/2 weeks
- under 6 lbs 10 oz
- healthy of course
- lots of good drugs with no throwing up this time

Actually I am feeling pretty good. I have been getting regular massages, so I think that helps alot. Also I am really quite rested, been sleeping well - I don't even have to get up for a pee in the middle of the night! I remember feeling quite a bit bigger with Samuel's pregnancy - I am measuring right on the money but I just feel way more petite. This is the best christmas present ever, the anticipation is building, its going to be such a suprise when he or she is born! Ade and I have a smokin staff party on Friday at the Hotel Mac, so I will blog some pics of us then of my tummy. Its so hard to find fancy prego clothes - so I am going pretty casual considering the location. I am just happy to be going with Ade, eating an amazing meal, and be around all the christmas stuff thats coming out. Sam and I are off today in search of a artificial christmas tree -

And PS Jan - get here soon already - I am trying really hard to hold off on all the Christmas decorating until you get here, Ade and I cant wait to do it with you. THis year we've decided to buy a artificial christmas tree, I am always watering and sweeping up needles. Also - yesterday we moved all the furnature down into the basement, so now there is the bed, a sitting area and the TV and stand. Its so cozy and nice.

Well - we will keep you posted via the blog. Your prayers would be greatly appreciated during this time. THanks everyone!

Little Lions....Big Lions....

Life has been sweet lately. Not that it suprises me or anything. Each morning though I seem to wake up in my warm bed with my warm flannel sheets in my warm home, with a healthy son sleeping in the next room, and a amazing husband and all I can do is pour my heart out in thanksgiving to the Lord for my cup that overflows so steadily. For those of you who don't know, Adrian is considering parental leave when our next child comes into this world. He will take the whole 35 weeks - I obviously don't qualify as I've only been back at work for a couple months. THis would mean we would only be apart 2 days from eachother as I would pick up 2 shifts a week at the hospital. It is very interesting the responses he has got from different people, parental leave for Dad's is less and less unheard of now a days. I am so proud of Adrian for being OK with it. For lots of men it would be a pride issue I think - its amazing to me how he wants to take time to invest in our marriage, our lives and work with me in developing the little children that God has placed in our care - and that he values that enough to take time off work. It is such a crutial time in Sam's development right now, both of us are so amazed with how much he adores his Daddy. Thats all he says all day - Daddy Dad Dad Daddy Dad Dad....

We're finishing our basement right now, and yesterday afternoon I was sitting on the floor down there watching Ade and Sam put on the trim. Ade patiently showed Sam how to use the stud finder after Sam sat back and watched his Dad work for a while he wanted to try. So he took the stud finder and ran it along the wall all by himself. What an amazing learning experience! Sam has these little toy plyers that he packs around the house all day long. Adrain is amazing with him - so patient and kind. People have told Adrian that it isn't about the quantity of time you spend with your kids - but the quality. We've discussed this, and disagree. Its about being there for the ups and downs, highs and lows, grumpies and happies, nights and days. By no means am I implying that every man should take time off or parental leave when their child is born - but I do believe there is no substitute for the parents doing the parenting. Its amazing that we live in a country where they are so facilitating for this type of leave of absence from work. I am so glad that I have a husband that values us so much. I am so excited to see where God is going to take us and teach us over the next year! He is so good.

4 1/2 more weeks till this little one comes into our cold winter world. We don't know the sex, so are quite excited about the suprise. Sleeping is getting somewhat more difficult - but it's managable thinking about the end product....
Will keep you all posted! When the baby comes, we will blog about it all - so feel free to email our link to whomever you think would be interested.

We just finished nutella pancakes, and then watched Dad from the window shovel the walks before heading off to work, Sam's in bed, and I am off for a bath.....

My prayer for each of you today is that you would have God courage when you face the lions in your life, whatever those lions may be. May he shield you, protect you, give you wisdom to make the right decisions to the hard choices that we are faced with every day....
